All experiance I've got from the game is from approx. 10 trial accounts, and about 3 days of a real account. I haven't really got more than 1.000.000 Skillpoints. Anyway, what I feel is what I feel... and it's ruining my gameexperiance.
First. I'm don't want to be a Fighter-pilot. Going around killing stuff is much fun, yes. But I wish there was other parts to be usefull in the game. Secound I don't wanna be a miner - just mine and sell it of seams at bit boring. Probobly many people have alts for mining, to get quick ISK. And once you've learned how to mine, you just do it. Over and over and over again.
I Started playing Eve beacuse I was mainly facinated about the industrial/Research/manufacturing part of it. To be a successfull Researcher or Manufacturer - creating items, ships and whatever to sell of at high profitable deals or help your friends in need. That was my dream... Being the corp. Industrialist making things for people, helping them out on the battlefront, BUT behind your desk. That was what I thought.
Untill. I realized that you can't really do that. You hardly make any profit doing things from Blueprints - you can't really inprove things that already exsists. Your friends might aswell buy stuff from the market at just alittle higher price with the ISK gained from there ALTS - or the corps miners.
No one really NEED an Industrialists. We only need ourself - creating things is fun, yes. But if there are no use to others than to us - whats the point? We can't just give them away, then we'll ruin us.
Some might say, "know the market" - Yes sure. I can spend countless hours researching(IRL) about the ingame-market, and still not make a profit worthlike a miners. So in the end, a Fighter could just get the ISK from a miner and skip the middlepart... the Manufacturer. The time saved on that would be better.
As I've understood a Manufacturer can make things real fast with the right skills - so time won't do much, yes. But gather the resources and waiting for slots and gather the ISK WILL take time. And the prices of your item created, will almost go off for the same as the on in the market, no?
I wish there was a more vital use for a manufacturer/Industrialists then just a "thing" to do while not in combat.
Am I totaly wrong here? Will this change - later in the game? I sure have secound thoughts about it. I might just shut up? I haven't played for long - but this is the feeling I get from the game, and all I've seen points towards it. I just want to know if its worth it in the end. Being Usefull, being needed, achiving something for a cause. Like for a fighter - Geting new equipments and gears to overcome more deadly opponents. or Miner - speeding upp the ISK making, and being able to horde Astroids and getting that rare piece.
Help? or STFU?
